Sweepstakes Casinos by State

Where do states stand on sweepstakes casinos? This page gives each state a plain-words status, a one-line summary, the government source and the date we last read it. We also list the regulator and legislative actions in date order, and the states where we publish offers.

Last verified: October 19, 2026

Each status comes from a government source we link. The labels record prohibitions and the lack of a prohibition we could find. None of them says a state allows sweepstakes casinos. The 2026-10-19 pass covered 19 states; the rest are marked not yet verified.

How we checked

Every status above rests on primary sources only: statute text, regulator orders and releases, attorney general releases, legislature bill pages and court records. We read each document on the date shown, link it, paraphrase it in one line and quote no more than a short phrase. "Verified" means we read that document on that date; it does not mean we reviewed all of a state's law. A fact we could only confirm through a search summary is left out. The pass of October 19, 2026 covered 19 states, and the other 32 (including DC) show not yet verified. Laws and regulator positions change, so a status can be out of date the day after we check it.

"No specific prohibition found" means our sources showed none. It does not mean the activity is allowed.

MyWager is an affiliate site: we earn a commission when readers sign up through some of our links. We list some sweepstakes casino offers; we do not list them in states shown as prohibited by statute. In states shown as "Regulator says illegal (no statute)" or "Not yet verified", we may still list offers: check with the sweepstakes casino and with your state before you play.

How we decide where an offer shows

Each operator sets the states it accepts players from. We only show an offer in the states that operator allows, and we remove it from a state when the operator stops allowing it. If a state shows no offers, it means we do not currently publish one there.

Our own page rules can narrow that list further, so an offer may be missing in a state where the operator itself would accept players. The operator's terms are always the final word on who can play.

This page is information, not legal advice. Laws change; check your state and the operator's terms.

Sweepstakes casinos are not allowed in every state, and the rules change. Before you play, check with the sweepstakes casino and with your state's gaming regulator or attorney general that it is allowed where you live. MyWager cannot confirm this for you.

Sweepstakes casinos are for adults only: 18+, or 21+ where the operator requires it. No purchase necessary. Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER.
