Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars overtake Bills in London

Trevor Lawrence went 25-for-37 passing for 315 yards and a touchdown to guide the Jacksonville Jaguars over the Buffalo Bills 25-20 on Sunday in London.

The Jaguars (3-2), who became the first NFL team to play two consecutive games in London, used long drives to tire out a Bills team that only landed in England on Friday morning.

Lawrence, who lost two of three fumbles, played through an apparent calf issue during the second half. Travis Etienne rushed 26 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Calvin Ridley caught seven passes for 122 yards.

Josh Allen went 27-for-40 for 359 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for the Bills (3-2), who were held to 29 rushing yards compared to 196 for the Jaguars.

Trailing by 11, the Bills scored with 4:03 to go when Allen hit Gabe Davis in the end zone from 19 yards away, but Jacksonville stopped their two-point conversion attempt.

Lawrence hit Ridley for 32 yards on a key third down, and two plays later, Etienne broke free for a 35-yard touchdown and a 25-13 lead.

Buffalo went 75 yards in 45 seconds and Allen pushed in a 3-yard TD run with 2:11 left. The Bills couldn’t recover a last-chance onside kick.

Stefon Diggs had eight catches for 121 yards and a touchdown for Buffalo. Davis caught six for 100.

Jacksonville had possession for 38:12, ran 82 plays and went 10-for-18 on third downs. Buffalo had the ball for 21:48, ran 54 plays and was 5-for-12 on third downs.

Bills All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano suffered a right knee injury during the first quarter. He was carted off and quickly ruled out.

The Jaguars opened the scoring when Lawrence went up top to Zay Jones for a 6-yard touchdown at 6:59 of the first quarter. Ed Oliver was called for roughing the passer on the play, so the Jaguars tried a two-point conversion from the 1-yard line. Etienne’s outside run made it 8-0.

Jacksonville added Brandon McManus’ 44-yard field goal, while the Bills punted on their first four drives.

Allen then led Buffalo on an 11-play, 86-yard march. He hit Diggs in stride for a 15-yard touchdown with 1:14 left in the half.

Lawrence drove the Jaguars into the red zone with time winding down before A.J. Epenesa stripped Lawrence and recovered the ball, preserving the 11-7 halftime score.

The Jaguars put together a 17-play drive that spanned 8:07 over the third and fourth quarters, but Oliver stripped the ball from Lawrence at the Buffalo 32 and Tyrel Dodson recovered.

Allen tried to capitalize on a deep throw to Diggs, but Darious Williams won a 50/50 ball for the interception at the Jacksonville 7-yard-line.

Jacksonville traveled 93 yards and finally broke through again on Etienne’s 7-yard touchdown run with 7:44 to play.
